Celestial themed colourful marquee wedding at home featuring a dreamy flower cloud

I love planning marquee weddings at home because they’re the ultimate blank canvas for a creatively fulfilling experience, offering boundless flexibility in both planning and design.

Sophie and Adam’s celestial-themed marquee wedding in Sunningdale, Surrey was no exception, although her parents’ spectacular garden wasn’t without its challenges! Thankfully, a digger took care of a sloping lawn and a meticulous build and de-rig schedule avoided supplier bottlenecks caused by tricky access.

After a traditional church ceremony, Adam drove his beaming bride home in an open-top E-Type for their drinks reception. The drinks reception took place on the lower lawn and terrace, beautifully captured by a live artist. Guests were then led by a saxophonist into the marquee, where they took their seats beneath a delicate floral cloud created by Fiona Fleur using pastel-coloured gypsophila, embodying the celestial wedding theme.

We had a lot of fun designing their sunny-coloured marquee reception, which was brought to life with bespoke stationery by Chloe Designs Things and long wooden tables dressed with linen runners and floral table ends. The highlight was our ‘Sky Full of Stars’ installation, which came into its own when Sophie and Adam danced their first dance to Coldplay.

It was such a memorable wedding and I loved getting to know Sophie and Adam and their lovely family.

“Thank you so much for everything you have done to keep us sane and allow us to thoroughly enjoy the process of planning our wedding. We honestly could not have done it without you and your calm, incredibly organised and friendly self! We know how hard you worked and we appreciate every second. Thank you for making our dreams come true.”
